Acronis True Image 2009 Iso

I tried 2009. Made a full C: image, same way I had been doing with TI 11.It backed up fine to my USB external hard drive (Maxtor 4 Plus). But it was unable to mount the file it had made, nor to recover with it. Their tech support said to copy the backup file to an internal drive. (!)Acronis refunded my $$$ and I went back to my tried and true TrueImage 11 (build 8101), which has never failed me.

For the purpose of this guide, Grub4DOS will be used to setup a flashdrive to boot the Acronis Resuce Media. This can be done by booting to the partition on the flashdrive (as setup by the Acronis Media Builder program) or by directly booting the Acronis ISO file. When you use the ISO method, you can put as many Acronis ISO images as required on the same flashdrive. This allows you to easily be able to boot into True Image Home 9, 10, 11, 2009, Echo Workstation, etc. by just selecting the desired menu entry.

Just used true image for the first time, quite scary but no alternative as PC not responding in many areas. I have P4 with only 74gb used space, my image is on a home made external drive from old PC, it took about 25mins to restore and the only thing I had overlooked was recent mails as DPreview would say: Highly recommended.

p.s. Due to this, I back up to a Seagate Freeagent "Extreme" with eSATA ports. The true image recovery environment has drivers for my expresscard eSATA controller, meaning that even if I boot the recovery environment from USB, I can still restore using decent speed. Maybe something to consider for the future?--Hi! I'm a .signature virus!Copy me into your .signature to help me spread!

Thanks for the reply.... I used the acronis image i created of my SBS 2003 box.. however when i booted the VM it had changed my drive letters so Exchange is not working. Any ideas how to resolve this?

I did have success by converting the running machine (not the acronis image that i have been trying) and it seemed to be perfect all drives were present and correct. Not my ideal way of doing it but worked.

Except for these solutions, using AOMEI Backupper Professional to clone WD SSD can be a great choice to fix Acronis true image cloning problem. It makes everything easy. With the help of it, you can clone hard drive in simple steps and boot your computer successfully. Also, you can clone system partition with "System Clone" and clone data partition with "Partition Clone".

When you install Win XP from the DELL provided disk, it DOES NOT, recreate the partition. That is something done at the factory. It is possible to recreate the partition and "ghost" an image of your new install, but this requires third party apps. Best one is Acronis True Image 2009. When you reinstall the OS, install all the drivers and then reimage to a partition. Acronis allows you to place the image on a DVD or another partition. If something happens you can simply reinstall everything from the image. To snswer you second question...you don't need the Resource CD/DVD. Simpy go to the support site using you Service TAG and everything you see there is inluded on either the drivers DVD/CD or the Resource CD. Good luck! 2ff7e9595c
